I really really want mob psycho to get a lot of recognition with this new season. Besides my desire of ONE and the animators to get all respect and praise, they deserve for all the work they put for this anime, I mostly wish that the message of the series reach more people. We need more shows to showcase kindness as a strength rather than a weakness, that you need to learn how to deal with your feelings in a healthy way instead of bottling them up, that being highly skilled in smt doesn’t make you more worthy as a person than others, how important is to be able to bond with others, and that its okay to let others help you when you feel you can’t do thing on your own. I’m sure I'm missing others points, but all in all, If you haven't yet, please give this series a chance you won’t regret it.
Another consistent theme I love: if you’re down the wrong path doing wrong hurtful things, it is not too late to get your shit together and take account for yourself! The people you hurt may not forgive you, and depending on your crime (being a school bully to being a dumb midboss) it may be a lonely path or take a while to find your feet. It never uses the excuse “oh this person is just a villain.” it goes into real, actual reasons kids lash out, or adults get funneled into bad behavior & continue to excuse themselves. And it draws the line in the right places and still has room to be kind to the right people; the child abuser goes to fucking jail, and his price is his kid will never trust him, but the kid is finally able to grow outside of that shadow and not just devote himself to “winning” against his dad. Same for the grown man being used, he has to choose to break away but it never paints it as easy. MP100 is aware of power dynamics on a level I’ve never seen before, and the main characters are not above being taught their own lessons on harmful behavior no matter how hard it is to own up.
What I say: I want this character to have a redemption arc.
What antis here: I want this character to inexplicably
become buddy-buddy with the heroes and have all their actions retconned. (Also
I was totally checked out for that time they kicked a puppy on screen, please remind me at every opportunity)
What I mean: I want this evil bastard to look deep inside
themselves and make the absolutely terrifying decision to change for the
better, go on a long, excruciating journey of making amends to the people they’ve
hurt and earning their forgiveness, and eventually joining the heroes.
some of you never had to pretend to sleep with your phone/gameboy hidden under your pillow while your mom walks in your room to check up on you and it shows
my policy for “they’re just doing it for attention” has always been and always will be “then someone needs to pay attention to them”
I’ve always thought this
Let me tell you about the time I worked as a computer teacher for a small private school. My first day went well, but in the staff room that day I was told I was lucky that this one kid was out sick. No one could control him.
Next week, he was in. It took me 10 minutes to determine that I was dealing with a 10 year old kid who was incredibly intelligent, more than a little bored, and loved being the center of attention.
He was also black. I say this because I think that a intelligent, somewhat bored, attention-seeking white kid might have been treated differently.
So, day one I made him sit by himself where no one could see him to stop him from taking over the class (which he was clearly used to doing).
Day two: I paid close attention to when he finished (not surprising, he was first and did everything correctly). I immediately told him he was helping me, and paired him with a struggling student.
My hunch was right; he made a excellent teacher. He thrived on having this other kid’s attention. He wasn’t bored. He was one of my best students.
He was a bright kid. And he needed people to pay attention to him and would settle for any kind of attention he could get. But when he was able to channel that positively, he was a great student and a really helpful classmate.
tbh when Jameela Jamil was calling these celebrities the fuck out and she said “How much money do you need? Really how much money do you need? How much money do any of these huge influencers who are worth millions or billions sometimes… How much more?” i felt that in my bones
When she called the Kardashians “double agents for the patriachry” for profiting off a patriarchal narrative and selling women self consciousness, I felt that on a spiritual level.
Half of the people who died in the bombing were children. The youngest of whom was only seven. Two hundred and fifty people were left homeless. When the bomb was dropped, the firefighters were ordered to stand back and not do anything to help. Police shot people as they tried to escape. And while the city apologized and called the bombing “unconscionable” the only person who was ever criminally charged in the affair was Ramona Africa, the sole adult survivor of the bombing.
Seriously, every single American should be required to learn about the MOVE bombing.
While this is going around, probably worth adding that Ramona Africa is currently suffering from cancer and asking for help with medical fees, gofundme here: https://www.gofundme.com/helpsaveramonaafrica
Make them longer so they can run around in them and it’d be fine.
since longer dresses get unwieldy, perhaps we could split them into two dresses, one around each leg 🤔
Studies have shown that putting babies/small children in dresses and skirts changes their behavior (babies/toddlers move less-and since people tend to put girl babies in dresses that means girl babies move less while their boy counterparts don’t get this treatment and move more). People also tend to put girls in nice clothes a lot at young ages and tell them not to get it dirty, essentially teaching girls that it’s more important to stay looking nice than it is to play or do anything else (when playing is the main way that children learn).
So what I’m saying is: put all babies and young children in clothes that are easy to move in (basically not a dress or a skirt) and don’t worry about them getting their clothes dirty. You can get other clothes but your child only gets one childhood.
“Batman has more than one son,“ I say into the mic.
The crowd boos. I begin to walk off in shame, when a voice speaks and commands silence from the room.
“She’s right,” I hear. I look around for the owner of the voice. There in the fifth row, he stands: Bruce Wayne himself.
“What does he know about Batman” the crowd replies and resumes booing. Bruce Wayne discreetly leaves the room. In an unrelated turn of events, a voice speaks from above. “She’s right,” I hear. There crashing through the skylight: Batman.
the only beings on earth im interested in appeasing are cats, i’ll fucking humiliate myself to the utmost degree so that a cat will like me, i will be the biggest clown around just to get a cat’s attention. i refuse to give this preferential treatment to any other lifeforms.
Dude was trans, and pioneered a lot of gynecology. Turns out there’s a movie currently being made about him, except:
Hmm.
Hmm.
HMM.
this crosses the line of plausibly deniable ignorance and careens straight into the territory of intentionally erasing our stories and our history.
im still on this actually. doctor barry’s personal notes and journals describe him feeling what we would now be able to easily identify as dysphoria and he did not work as hard as he did to be recognized as a man just to be played by a cis actress and have everything he did written off as “a woman pretending to be a man.” between this and the narrowly avoided disaster that would have been rub and tug, hollywood seems to be systematically dismantling the history of trans people and erasing our heroes, saying that the whole time, they really were just their agab. you know, the same thing that has been said about every trans person throughout history.
give this the same uproar that rub and tug got. don’t let this rest until everything about this movie is either scrapped or changed. do not let a million cis people’s introduction to doctor barry be that he was a woman when he spent so much of his life escaping that very perception.
Random Headcanon: Link’s androgyny isn’t just an artefact of the Zelda franchise’s art direction - and neither is it particularly unusual. Sexual dimorphism among Hylians is legitimately much lower than among real-world humans; if Link and Zelda swapped clothes, you’d never be able to tell who was the girl and who was the boy.
Consequently, Hylian society depends heavily on clothing to establish gender roles, to the extent that it’s a severe faux pas to question someone’s gender presentation. If they’re dressed like a girl, then they’re a girl - even if they were dressed like a boy yesterday. That’s why nobody ever remarks upon the fact that Zelda and her heroic alter-ego Sheik are different genders; it’d be gauche at best to bring it up.
Good post op
explains why i can be banned from gerudo town, change clothes in front of the guards, and then be welcomed with open arms
shit, this absolutely provides an explanation for it that isn’t just “lazy game mechanism” and is honestly such a solid demonstration of how people should approach genderfluidity.
doesn’t matter if the first time you met the person they presented as male, if they present as female now that means they’re a woman and they’re welcome into gerudo town no questions asked
Also, Link and Zelda 100% do swap places often and you can’t tell me otherwise.
“Princess Zelda, Ganon has made his way into the kingdom! What should we do?!”
I have met a frightening number of Americans who don't think we have roads or shops or electricity on this side of the Atlantic so who the fuck knows what they even learn in schools or how they manage to never interact with human beings outside of America (or assume everyone online is American and only talking about American things)
the day is literally not even over and i got something else to add:
The Mary Sue publishes an interview with Dwayne Johnson claiming that he thinks “snowflake culture” is “taking us backwards,” The Rock responds on Instagram claiming that the interview was completely fabricated.
“millenials are so stupid, they can’t perform basic life skills” cries the generation that failed to teach their children basic life skills
also a lot of those practical skills were taught in classes like home ec that have been cut completely as schools slash all spending not related to sports and STEM
